"But what happened to those things? Snow, and the rest of it?""Climate Control. Snow made growing food difficult, limited the ag

ricultural periods. And unpredictable weather made transportation almost impossible at times. It wasn't a practical thing, so it became obsolete when we went toSameness. "And hills, too," he added. "They made conveyance [transport] of goods unwieldy [difficult]. Trucks; buses. Slowed them down. So--" He waved his hand, as if a gesture had caused hills to disappear. "Sameness," he concluded. Jonas frowned. "I wish we had those things, still. Just now and then." The old man smiled. "So do I," he said. "But that choice is not ours." From the passage above, what can readers infer about the society/culture of the community?
Question 2 options:

The government controls every aspect of life in the community so that citizens are not at all aware of life outside their own society.

Due to climate change, snow no longer exists in Jonas’s world.

People have forgotten how to drive on hills.

I think the correct answer is the first one: "The government controls every aspect of life in the community so that citizens are not at all aware of life outside their own society." Since the establishment of Sameness, things that made living difficult had disappeared, such as snow and hills, and now people hardly remember it.

in the € 1,000,000 bank note why did mark twain most likely create the character henry adams as an american living in england
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

to better compare and contrast American and British social tendencies.

Explanation:

Mark Twain most likely created the character of Henry Adams as an American living in England to better compare and contrast American and British social tendencies. Twain presents this story as a way to show how the way British and American society operate around money is very different. On the one hand, English people believe Adams's claim, and they are willing to lend him things and believe him reputable because of this note. On the other hand, Henry demonstrates to be clever and disciplined with his use of the money, arguably American qualities.

BartSMP [9]

Answer:They were better in a lot of ways and worse in some ways.

Explanation:

Better than1.)There were virtually NO drugs back then. When I was in high school if someone would have said to me I will give you a thousand dollars if you are able to buy some grass or some coke today I could NOT have done it.I didnt know a single person, kid or an adult who used drugs.

2.)People socialized more. They could NOT sit home on their computer so they visited friends and neighbors.

3.)Divorce was almost unheard of.I wouldnt have had a hard time thinking of a friend when I was in school who didnt live in a 2parent home.

4.)Kids cant get spanked (paddled) at school anymore YAY!

Worse

1.)Jobs were much more limited.Usually you could work in a factory, you could be a clerk or a secretary or a teacher and that was about it.

2.)Today with the internet, you can look stuff up and find the information quickly, instead of having encyclopedias or textbooks.
