vekshin1

Answer:

Virginia - Economic reasons

Explanation:

Considering the available options, the colony that matches correctly with the reason it was founded is "Virginia - Economic reasons."

Virginia was founded in 1607 under the leadership of John Smith while working for the London Company. The primary reason behind the founding was to ensure the joint-stock-owned Virginia Company of London makes profits.

Maryland - which was founded in 1633 by George and Cecil Calvert, was established for religious reason, specifically the Catholic Church

Pennsylvania - was founded in 1681by William Penn, and it was based for religious purpose, specifically for the Quakers

Georgia - was founded in 1732 by James Oglethorpe, and it was initially for economic reasons, mainly to settle debts.

The first people to make it to Oregon, was Lewis and Clark. Since their route was too harsh for ordinary people, not many people ventured there. When Jedediah Smith found the South Pass (an easier way through the Sierra Nevada), many settlers crossed the country to get to Oregon. The first people were missionaries and although not many Natives converted, their tales of fertile soil encouraged many people to venture to Oregon. They went through the country on a covered wagon. Furthermore, the challenges they faced, consisted of harsh weather, starvation (especially when crossing the Sierra Nevada), and Native American attacks.

More than 30 million year ago massive extensions of swamp waters and marshlands were formed in Oklahoma. As the years went by these swamp waters were buried beneath soil, sand and gravel however, these water deposits later provided the state with natural resources such as coal, petroleum and natural gas. Thus they are or were called swamp treasures due to their multiple uses and the richness they gave to the state.
