Each face of a six-sided cube is painted a different color. The cube is rolled twice and a coin is flipped. How many different p
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

72

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 6 possible outcomes for the first roll, 6 possible outcomes for the second roll, and 2 possible outcomes for the coin flip. Since all of the events are independent, you can simply multiply these together to get a total of 72 outcomes. Hope this helps!

X^2+y^2=169, 3x+2y=39 please answer using substitution and each step
Oksanka [162]

Answer:

x=13,y=0

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given a system of equations

{x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  = 169 -  - eqn \: 1 \\ 3x + 2y = 39 -  - eqn \: 2

For equation 1,square all terms to reduce it

√x²+√y²=169

x+y=13

Make x the subject as required by the question to use substitution method

x=13-y

Plug x=13-y into eqn 2

3(13-y)+2y=39

39-3y+2y=39

39-y=39

y=39-39=0

Plug y=0 into equation 1

x+0=13

x=0

The amount of fabric in inches Felicia need to make the actual shape for the comforter is 660 in²

<h3>What is a trapezoid?</h3>

It is defined as the quadrilateral having four sides in which two sides are parallel to each other, it is a 2-dimensional geometry.

We have a trapezoid in the picture shown with dimensions.

We know the area of the trapezoid is given by:

\rm A = \dfrac{a+b}{2} \times h

Here a = 15 cm, b = 22 cm and h = 11 cm

\rm A = \dfrac{15+22}{2} \times 11

A = 203.5 square cm

To make the square from the trapezoid, Felicia needs to cut two triangles from the both end, as shown in the figure.

The height of the triangle = 11 cm

And base length = (22-15)/2 = 3.5 cm

The area of the triangle = (11×3.5)/2 = 19.25 square cm

Area of the two triangles = 2×19.25 = 38.5 square cm

Now the amount of fabric  =  203.5 -  38.5 = 165 square cm

As the scale is given 1 cm = 2 in

1 cm ² = 4 in²

So, the amount of fabric in inches = 165×4 = 660 in²

Thus, the amount of fabric in inches Felicia need to make the actual shape for the comforter is 660 in²
