For much of the early history of the American colonies, England chose a governing policy of salutary neglect. Why then would Eng

land, in the eighteenth century, tighten its governance and increase taxation? A. The structure and hierarchy of colonial governments was based upon following a strict adherence to the structure and hierarchy of government in England. Because of the political similarity, increased governance was an easy transition. B. When England realized that the governing styles of other colonial empires, such as Spain and France, flourished because of tight political control, it chose to adopt a similar style of rule. C. Conflicts, such as the French and Indian War, increased English costs for maintaining the American colonies. Because of this, it seemed only natural that it would be the colonists who, through increased taxation, financially covered those costs. D. As King George III came to power in England, he enacted new reforms and policies, namely toward the colonies. These policies were a direct result of his connection to his Catholic faith.

What was the Missouri Compromise?

How did it affect our relationship with Mexico?
Gennadij [26K]
The Missouri Compromise was an exertion by Congress to defuse the sectional and political competitions activated by the demand of Missouri late in 1819 for affirmation as a state in which subjection would be allowed. At the time, the United States contained twenty-two states, uniformly partitioned amongst slave and free.

Others felt that it made the north appear to be more forceful in its abolitionist servitude perspectives and added to southern hatred, which may have prompted the Civil War happening sooner. The Missouri Compromise was intended to make a harmony amongst slave and non-slave states.

Why did the Federalists approve of the separation of powers in the Constitution?
natita [175]

The correct answer is They thought it was necessary to protect the liberty of Americans.

The Federalists were a group of individuals who wanted a strong central government when developing the new US Constitution. The Federalists felt that the old constitution, the Articles of Confederation, was too weak and lacked the strength needed to keep the country together. This is why the Federalists advocated for a stronger federal (central) government.

The Federalists also wanted to ensure that the federal government did not become corrupt or tyrannical. This is why they approved of a system of checks and balances, in which each branch of the federal government has specific powers. For example, the legislative branch creates laws, the president enforces laws, and the judicial branch interprets the law.
