Why dose Davis belive southern states had the right to secede
finlep [7]

Answer:

Davies believes that it was the south's right to keep slave but the north was against this right and this lead him to support the seccesionist.

Explanation:

Davis full name is Jefferson Finis Davis, born on June 3, 1808 and died in December 6, 1889, he was an American politician who served as the president of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1865. He was from Mississippi, one of the state that first declare seccesion, he previously served as the United States Secretary of War from 1853 to 1857 under President Franklin Pierce.

Davies, at first was against seccesion. In his speech in Boston, he stated that National unity will make America prosperous but later he was chosen as the president of the seccesionist Nation

Davis supported his southern counterparts in moving for seccesion because he was also a southerner and he felt that the southerners were been force to do things. Davies, a southerner owns a plantation, and in the 1840s he owned over 70 slaves. In the south, Slaves are believe to be properties of the owners and Just like other seccesionist he was in the view that it was not right to take someone else properties.
