Families contain elements with similar characteristics, usually determined by the number of electrons in the outer electron energy level. atomic number atomic mass symbol element name Alkali Metals The alkali metals have 1 valence electron. They're soft metallic solids, with characteristic metal properties of shiny luster and high thermal and electrical conductivities. The alkali metals have low densities and melting points, increasing and decreasing respectively with increasing atomic mass.
The alkali metal react vigorously with water, producing hydrogen gas and a solution of an alkali metal hydroxide. These reactions are very exothermic, in many cases generating enough heat to ignite the H , producing fire or sometimes even an explosion.

The different families of the periodic table are non-metals, transition metals, rare earth metals, halogens, alkali metals, alkali earth metals, and inert elements.

The families that have the highest reactivities are the alkali metals and earth alkali metals. These are located far left on the periodic table. They are highly reactive because they have an shell with only 1 electron and need to complete the shell to become stable.

The family that is unreactive is inert elements or noble gases. This is because they have a full shell and are completely stable.

I've attached a period table with the families listed and shown on the periodic table. Hope I could help!

When a male pig from a line of true-breeding (homozygous) black, solid-hooved pigs was crossed to a female from
natita [175]

Answer:

When a male pig from a line of true-breeding (homozygous) black, solid-hooved pigs was crossed to a female from a breed (homozygous) of red, cloven-hooved pigs, their several progeny all looked alike with regard to color and hooves. These progeny were all mated to members of the same breed as their red, cloven-hooved mother pig. The offspring from this final cross were: 11 black, cloven-hooved; 8 black, solid-hooved; 14 red, cloven-hooved; and 10 red, solid-hooved. For each of these two genes (coat color and hoof type) determine which allele is the dominant one. Explain your reasoning. What were the phenotypes of the progeny produced by the first mating in this problem.
