The Salt March, also known as Salt Satyagraha, Dandi March, or Dandi Satyagraha, was an act of direct peace action in colonial India led by Mahatma Gandhi. His 24-day march from 12 March 1930 to 6 April 1930 was conducted as an immediate action campaign of monetary resistance and coordinated protest against the British people's salt monopoly.
