Interference is described as a difficulty for remembering caused by similar information which "gets in the way". <u>Proactive interference</u> occurs when old information impedes recalling more recent information.
In contrast, retroactive interference works the other way around: more recent information obstructs older information.
According to Social Cognition our thoughts and personal feelings and behavior of individuals are all influenced by the actual, imagined and or implied presence of others. Moreover, we tend to use social psychology to better our personal relationships in our personal and professional lives.
