Another issue is that of creation of common currency because every state had their currency in place. This was also one the reason why the states have opposed for First National Bank.

We can start from the economic factors like the rise of the Industrialism but also the Great Depression. There was also a World War as well as the general political turmoil. Many more people were getting educated as well, which led to increase in political activity.
