The system is

2x + y = 8
x  -  y  = 1

Let's solve this system using some of the steps outlined above.
1. Solve the first equation for y. To do this, subtract 2x from both sides:

      0 + y = 8 - 2x   =>  y = 8 - 2x
2. Now let's look at the second equation. See that y? We write out the
      equation like this:    x - (     y     ) = 1
      (Must use those parentheses!)
     Whre you see y, write 8-2x instead:
                                       x - ( 8-2x) = 1
3.   Simplify this:             x  - 8 + 2x = 1
4.     Combine like terms:   3x - 8 = 1;    add 8 to both sides to isolate x:
5.    Isolate x:  3x = 9
6.    Sove for x:     x = 3.  Because x - y = 1, 3 - y = 1, so y must be 2.
7. Set out the solution: It's the point (3, 1).

Plese compare this solution with the one giv en in this problem. Can you find any errors in Jenny's approach? Please respond.

What is the slope of the line going through the points (-3,-7.5) and (-2,-5)
lakkis [162]

Answer:

2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

y2 - y1 = top

x2 - x1 = bottom

y2 = -5

y1 = -7.5

x2 = -2

x1 = -3

-5-(-7.5) = 2.5

-2-(-3) = 1

2.5 over 1 = 2.5

Tamara finds the sum of two number cubes rolled at the same time. The chart below shows all
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

42

Step-by-step explanation:

there are a possible 6 combinations for a sum of 7:

1,6

6,1

2,5

5,2

3,4

4,3

so we can create this proportion:

7/36 = n/216

n = # times to roll a sum of 7 out of 216

now cross-multiply:

36n = 1512

n = 1512/36

n = 42

Please help me fast :)
liq [111]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Y = x² - 2x + 5

x = -2

y = -2² -2(-2) + 5

y = 4 + 4 + 5 = 13

x = -1

y = -1² -2(-1) + 5

y = 1 + 2 + 5 = 8

x = 1

y = 1² -2(1) + 5

y = 1 - 2 + 5 = 4

x = 3

y = 3² -2(3) + 5

y = 9 - 6 + 5 = 8

x = 6

y = 6² -2(6) + 5

y = 36 - 12 + 5 = 29

Eric and his two sister shared amount of money in ratio2:7 respectively. If Eric had 300.00 and the remaining amount shared equa
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

The equal amount is 525 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Eric and his two sister shared amount of money in ratio2:7 respectively.

Amount with Eric = 300

It means,

2x = 300

x = 150

So,

7x = 7(150)

= 1050

As the remaining amount shared equally among the sister. So, the equal amount is 525 .
