Question 1. The best answer is C - antigen on the red blood.

The ABO blood classification is based on the red blood cells. In summary:

1. blood type A has antigen A on the red cell membrane.

2. blood type B has antigen B on the red cell membrane.

3. blood type AB has both antigen A and B on the cell membrane.

4. blood type O has no antigen at all on the red cell membrane.

Question 2. the best answer is b - transportation of oxygen.

Sickle cells have an abnormal type of hemoglobin that is unable to carry oxygen in the same capacity that normal, healthy hemoglobin does.

The blood grouping is classified on the basis of surface antigen. Sickle cell anemia decreases the transportation of oxygen within the body.

Further Explanation:

A blood group system or ABO blood groups are classified on the basis of the inherited characteristics of the erythrocytes (red blood cell). It is determined by the presence of type A and type B antigen on the surface red cells. It was first discovered by Karl Landsteiner in 1901. The people with type A antigen will have type B antibodies in their serum. The individual with type O blood group does not possess any type of antigen, whereas type AB possesses both the antigens. Blood group O is the most commonly occurring blood group type across the world.

Sickle cell anemia or sickle cell disease is an inherited disorder or it can be transmitted from generation to generation. The normal red cells are small, biconcave and circular in structure. They are more flexible and can easily cross the vessel. In sickle cell disease conditions, the cells are of crescent or sickle-shaped. The change in the structure makes it rigid and sticky due to which the stuck in the vessel. It results in blocking the blood flow. In this disease, the red blood cells die more frequently than usualthat cause a decrease in the number of red blood cell.

Which biomolecule is structurally important to the cell membrane as it comprises the bilayer?
alukav5142 [94]
Phospholipids. Phospholipids, arranged in a bilayer, make up the basic fabric of the plasma membrane. They are well-suited for this role because they are amphipathic, meaning that they have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions. Chemical structure of a phospholipid, showing the hydrophilic head and hydrophobic tails ..

A trout population grew from 4 in 1992 to 16 in 1993 and then to 64 in 1994. If it continued to grow exponentially, approximatel
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

256

Explanation:

==>Trout population:

In 1992, we have 4

In 1993, we have 16

In 1994, we have 64

==>Required:

Population if trout in 1995

Thus, since we are told that the population growth is exponential, and looking at how the popuation increased from 1992 to 1994, we can see that the population increased yearly in the multiples of 4.

=> 4, 16, 64, ?

The next number in this series of exponential growth which represents the population in 1995 would be 256. I.e. (4)⁴ = 4*4*4*4 = 256

Population of trout in 1995 = 256
