To determine whether the corresponding terms of 2 arithmetic sequence's added will give new arithmetic sequence or not, Let' take 2 Arithmetic sequences.

In one first term is a1 and common difference is d1, in the other first term is a2 and common difference is d2.

Now nth term for first sequence = a1+(n-1) d1

  nth term for second sequence = a2+(n-1) d2

Now add the 2 terms: a1+(n-1)d1 +a2 +(n-1)d2

                                   = a1+a2 + (n-1)(d1+d2)

This is again new arithmetic sequence with first term a1+a2 and common difference d1+d2.

Hence if we add corresponding terms of 2 arithmetic sequence, we will again get an arithmetic sequence.

Select the statement that best justifies the conclusion based on the given information.
Drupady [299]

Answer:

Option c.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given information: B is between A and C.

Conclusion: A, B and C are collinear.

Definition of betweenness : If A, B, and C are distinct points all on a single line then

AB + BC = AC, B lies in the interior of the line segment AC.

Definition of collinear: If three or more points lie on a single line, then they are said to be collinear.

We know that, through any two different points, exactly one line exists.

It is given that B is between A and C. It means A,B and C lie on a single line

Therefore, the correct option is c.

Solve the equation 3x + 4y = 16 for x.
harina [27]
Simplifying
3x + -4y = 16

Solving
3x + -4y = 16

Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '4y' to each side of the equation.
3x + -4y + 4y = 16 + 4y

Combine like terms: -4y + 4y = 0
3x + 0 = 16 + 4y
3x = 16 + 4y

Divide each side by '3'.
x = 5.333333333 + 1.333333333y

Simplifying
x = 5.333333333 + 1.333333333y

F(x) = 2x + 6, g(x) = 4x2 Find (f + g)(x).
son4ous [18]
(f+g)(x) is simply saying add these two problems together.

(2x+6) + (4x^2)

Parenthesis are now useless, as there is only addition.

2x + 6 + 4x^2

Reorder, cause it's pretty and familiar

4x^2 + 2x + 6

We could further simplify

2(2x^2 + x + 3)
