"The mother-women seemed to prevail that summer at Grand Isle. It was easy to know them, fluttering about with extended, protect

ing wings when any harm, real or imaginary, threatened their precious brood. They were women who idolized their children, worshipped their husbands, and esteemed it a holy privilege to efface themselves as individuals and grow wings as ministering angels." What is the significance of this quote?

For me, this quote shows the growing numbers of women who are mothers in the society. It also emphasizes their unique role of being fiercely protective when it comes to their children and husband. Their roles are compared to ministering angles, because without them, the family would not prosper as it already is.
