What did colonies had to overcome

History

xxTIMURxx [149]4 years ago

The first colonists of the United States had to overcome many life threatening challenges. Some of these include starvation, hostile Native Americans, as well as poor leadership. Within three days of settling in Jamestown (the second settlement, Roanoke being first) the colonists were attacked by hostile Indians but this was toned down to the occasional raid due to trade. There was drought that made it difficult to grow crops and find fresh water that wasn't contaminated. And with all of this, there were also mosquitoes that brought disease to the settlers as well. Hope this helped! :)

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I NEED HELP QUICK!! What was one main reason why slave trading greatly expanded beginning around the 1500s? A
Llana [10]

Answer:

Option:  Europeans started depending on slaves for free labor in new colonies.

Explanation:

It was after the discovery of America and the triangular trade that led to the introduced of slaves in America by European. Slavery, for the first time, became part of in colonies. Colonies in America were dependent on slaves for their survivals because of the harsh climate and struggles. Slaves were required to lessen the burden from the colonists, where they became common in colonies who did domestic chores and toiled in agriculture land. Plantations of tobacco, cotton, and rice helped the settlers to survive and prosper with the help of slaves who worked in the fields.
