If assuming PTC as a simple gene trait what other genotype would you select to put in this missing genotype box that could resul

t in this phenotype, why?

The missing box will have genotype Tt

The phenotype will be tasters for PTC as TT, Tt

Explanation:

The taste of PTC is determined by the alleles on the PTC gene. It is a dominant trait. Those who are able to taste PTC have dominant alleles of TT (Homozygous or Tt Heterozygous).

Those having recessive gene tt are said to be non-tasters.

Those with the dominant allele in their PTC gene will find the taste of PTC bitter.

Those with the recessive allele in their PTC gene will find the taste of PTC as tasteless.

Thus genetic make-up of the individual decides their taste. The Phenotype can be either tasters or non-tasters.

TT, Tt (tasters)

tt ( non-tasters)

This follows Mendel's Law of Dominance.

Which cell organelle’s function resembles the function of the brain in higher animals
shusha [124]

Answer;

The nucleus.

Explanation;

-The nucleus is the cell organelle whose function resembles the function of the brain in higher animals.

-The Nucleus is the largest organelle in a cell. It contains a dense structure called the Nucleolus and is surrounded by the Nuclear Envelope.

-It stores the cell's hereditary material, or DNA, and coordinates the cell's activities, which include growth, intermediary metabolism, protein synthesis, and reproduction, just like the brain which controls or the activities of a higher organism.

During an infection with listeria, an intracellular bacterium, antigen presenting cells will present antigen on mhc class ______
Marat540 [252]

During infection with Listeria, an intracellular bacterium, APCs will present antigen on MHC II molecules and triggers a phagocytic property by stimulating the release of macrophages.

What is the role of macrophages in Phagosomes?

Phagosome maturation was formerly regarded to be a very simple notion that described how much phagosomes had united with lysosomes.

  • Unfortunately, this assumption is no longer valid because phagosomes are now known to interact with a variety of intracellular organelles during their maturation process.
  • Proteins, such as the NADPH oxidase complex that creates the superoxide burst, may be seen being assembled on the phagocytic cup even before they are fully formed.
  • When the phagosome closes and the maturation process begins, it becomes increasingly acidic and hydrolytically active, and it transiently fuses with the recycling endosomal system, the secretory system, including secretory lysosomes, multi-vesicular bodies such as the MHC class II (MIIC) compartment, and even the endoplasmic reticulum.
