Lucy has 30 minutes to decorate 12 cupcakes. she can spend 2 minutes and 30 seconds on each cupcake. this is because 30/12= 2.5 which is equal to two minutes and thirty seconds. she spend two minutes and thirty seconds decorating each cupcake.

Solve S=2(lw + lh + wh) for w
vovikov84 [41]
Dividing by 2, we have S/2=lw+lh+wh. After that, we subtract lh from both sides to get S/2-lh=lw+wh. Next, we divide both sides by w to get (S/2)/w=l+h. Next, we divide by S/2 to get 1/w=(l+h)/(S/2). Lastly, we multiply by w and divide by (l+h)/(S/2)  to get w=(S/2)/(l+h)

Solve x2-8x=3 by completing the square. which is the solution set of the equation
Mazyrski [523]

we have

x^{2}-8x=3

Complete the square. Remember to balance the equation by adding the same constants to each side

x^{2}-8x+16=3+16

x^{2}-8x+16=19

Rewrite as perfect squares

(x-4)^{2}=19

(x-4)^{2}=19\\ (x-4)=(+/-)\sqrt{19} \\ \\ x1=4+\sqrt{19} =8.359\\ x2=4-\sqrt{19} =-0.359

therefore

the answer is

x1=4+\sqrt{19} =8.359\\x2=4-\sqrt{19} =-0.359
