If you fall down and scrape your hand; the function of the components of blood at the point of injury would be;
Plasma and platelets- would help in the process of blood clotting so that you don't bleed out.
White blood cells- These would help prevent the occurrence of infection by defending the body from possible pathogens that would enter at the point of injury.
Red blood cells -would function to deliver the oxygen to the site of injury.

Blood is a tissue that contains components such as Plasma, platelets, red blood cells and the white blood cells. The function of red blood cells is to carry oxygen and nutrients through out the body. White blood cells are involved in functions that are controlled by the immune system, including defending the body from foreign pathogens. Platelets are pieces of cells in the blood that work to form blood clots and prevent the body from loosing too much blood.  Plasma contains other important proteins such as fibrinogen, globulins that are important in the functions of blood tissue.

The plasma and platelets would help to clot the blood so you wouldn't bleed out while the white blood cells fight to prevent infection and diseases from entering your body. Red blood cells would also provide oxygen to the injury.
