Answer:

Viruses are tinier than bacteria. In fact, the largest virus is smaller than the smallest bacterium. All viruses have is a protein coat and a core of genetic material, either RNA or DNA. Unlike bacteria, viruses can't survive without a host.

So life itself is an emergent, complex state, but it is made from the same fundamental, physical building blocks that constitute a virus. Approached from this perspective, viruses, though not fully alive, may be thought of as being more than inert matter: they verge on life.

maria [59]

The correct answer is - B. Mitosis produces two diploid daughter cells, while meiosis produces four haploid daughter cells.

The processes of mitosis and meiosis are often confused with one another, mostly because of the similarity in their names.

The mitosis is a type of cell division where the end result is two daughter cells, each of the cells has the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus. Thus is typical for the growth of tissue.

The meiosis is a type of cell division where the end result is four daughter cells, each of the cells having half the number of chromosomes of the parent nucleus. This is typical for the gametes and the plant spores.

Zielflug [23.3K]
The answer to the above question is the Mendel's law of independent assortment. Mendel's law of independent assortment states that the alleles of two or more different genes get sorted independently into gametes of one another . That is the allele a gamete receives for one gene does not influence the allele received for another gene.
