Hello!, this is a linear problem. So we can use y = mx + b

m = slope = rate = 2.10

b = initial cost = 5.00

y = total cost = 49.10

x = distance

Now, just plugin our information into our formula/model

y = mx + b

49.10 = 2.10x + 5.00

Now solve for x to find the distance

49.10 = 2.10x + 5.00

(-5.00) + 49.10 = 2.10x + 5.00 + (-5.00)

(-5.00) + 49.10 = 2.10x + 5.00 + (-5.00)

44.10 = 2.10x

44.10 / 2.10 = 2.10x / 2.10

44.10 / 2.10 = x

21 =x

x = 21

x = distance = 21

Equation:

f(x) = 2.10x + 5

Paid $49.10

2.1x + 5 = 49.10

2.1x = 44.1

x = 21

The distance between airport and Ann's home = 21 miles

For a dinner party Abraham is creating Individual Serving of starters. He has nine carrot sticks and 18 Celery sticks if he want
alexandr402 [8]

Answer:  9\ servings

Step-by-step explanation:

You know that Abraham has 9 carrot sticks and 18 Celery sticks.

In order to calculate the greatest number of servings Abraham can create, you need to find the Greatest Common Factor (GCF).

The procedure to find the Greatest common factor is:

 1. Descompose 9 and 18 into their prime factors.

 2. Multiply the commons factors with their lowest exponents.

Then, in this case you get:

9=3*3=3^2\\\\18=2*3*3=2*3^2

GCF=3^2=9

Therefore, the greatest number of servings Abraham can create is:

9\ servings

Jackson sampled 101 students and calculated an average of 6.5
ozzi

Using the t-distribution, the 95% confidence interval for the average number of hours of sleep for working college students is between 6.03 and 6.97 hours.

<h3>What is a t-distribution confidence interval?</h3>

The confidence interval is:

\overline{x} \pm t\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}

In which:

  • \overline{x} is the sample mean.
  • t is the critical value.
  • n is the sample size.
  • s is the standard deviation for the sample.

For this problem, the parameters are given as follows:

\overline{x} = 6.5, s = 2.4, t = 1.984, n = 101

Hence the bounds of the interval are:

  • \overline{x} - t\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}} = 6.5 - 1.984\frac{2.4}{\sqrt{101}} = 6.03
  • \overline{x} + t\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}} = 6.5 + 1.984\frac{2.4}{\sqrt{101}} = 6.97

The 95% confidence interval for the average number of hours of sleep for working college students is between 6.03 and 6.97 hours.
