Let n be Fritzs' car speed, and n+12 be the speed of the train. Then:
1/2 (n)=1/3 (n+12)
2n+24=3n
n=24 mph
n+12=36 mph
Fritz travels 12 miles to work.
30 min @24mph=12 miles
20 min @36mph=12 miles
