Motor vehicles sold to individuals are classified as either cars or light trucks (including SUVs) and as either domestic or impo
Rudik [331]

Answer:

a) Probability that vehicle is Light Truck is 0.69

b) Probability that vehicle is imported car is 0.08 or 8%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Part a)

Event that vehicle is a car is given by A. Since, the vehicles can only be classified as cars or light trucks, the event that a vehicle will be light truck will be compliment of A.

i.e. Event that vehicle is a Light Truck = A^{c}

It is given that in recent year 69% of vehicles sold were light trucks, 78% were domestic, and 55% were domestic light trucks.

So, from here we can say that, if a vehicle is randomly selected from all the vehicles the probability that it would be a light truck will be:

P(Vehicle will be Light Truck) = P(A^{c}) = 69% = 0.69

Part b)

Event that vehicle is imported is given by B. We need to find the probability the a randomly chosen vehicle is an imported car i.e. we have to find probability of occurrence of events A and B together, which will be denoted as: P(A and B)

Since, P(A^{c}) = 69% = 0.69

P(A) = 1 - P(A^{c}) = 1 - 0.69 = 0.31

It is also given that 78% of vehicles were domestic. This means, the percentage/probability of imported vehicles is:

P(B) = 1 - 0.78 = 0.22

55% of vehicles were domestic light trucks. This can be expressed as:

P(A^{c}\&B^{c}), the compliment of this event will give us P(A or B).

i.e.

P(A or B) = 1 - P(A^{c} \&B^{c}) = 1 - 0.55 = 0.45

According to the addition rule of probabilities:

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)

Substituting the calculated values gives us:

0.45 = 0.31 + 0.22 - P(A and B)

P(A and B) = 0.08

This means, the probability that vehicle is imported car is 0.08 or 8%.

URGENT!!!! Find the m<2.
Leto [7]

Answer:

Hello! :) I hope I’m correct!!

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>I think the answer should be the second one.</em>

<u><em>the angle with the square at the corner is obviously a right angle, 90°. opposite angles have the same angle so opposite to it, angle 3 is also 90°. then add the angle 3 and the given angle (23°). 90°+23°=113° then subtract it to 180° (since a straight line is 180°). 180°-113°=67°</em></u>

<em />

<em>The steps:</em>

<em>To solve m< 2,</em>

<em />m< 2 = 180 - (90 + 23)<em />

<em />m< 2 = 180 - 113<em />

<em />m< 2 = 67<em />

<em />

<h3><em>Therefore, I think the answer should be 67 (second choice)</em></h3>

<em>i’m not really sure if this is the answer, but I hope this was helpful!! :)</em>

<em>if you have any questions about these steps, feel free to ask!</em>

Find the constant rate of change for each table
BlackZzzverrR [31]

the constant rate of change, or average rate of change, is just its slope, so we can just pick any two points to get it.

\bf \begin{array}{|cc|ll}\cline{1-2}\stackrel{x}{time}&\stackrel{y}{distance}\\\cline{1-2}1&6\\\underline{2}&\underline{12}\\3&18\\\underline{4}&\underline{24}\\\cline{1-2}\end{array}~\hspace{7em}\begin{array}{llll}(\stackrel{x_1}{2}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{12})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{4}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{24})\\\\\\slope =  m\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{ y_2- y_1}}{\stackrel{run}{ x_2- x_1}}\implies \cfrac{24-12}{4-2}\\\\\\\cfrac{12}{2}\implies 6\end{array}

3 - what = 11<br><br> please help with this one
SOVA2 [1]
So we can set up a simple equation for this, where the word “what” is a variable, x. This equation is 3 - x=11. Then we subtract 3 from both sides, giving us -x=8. We can divide both sides by -1, giving us x=-8. The answer would be -8. Hope this helped.
