Read the following exchange between Romeo and Juliet from act I of Romeo and Juliet. What does the excerpt reveal about the love

between the two young people? ROMEO: (to JULIET) If I profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss. JULIET: Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, Which mannerly devotion shows in this; For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss. ROMEO: Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too? JULIET: Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer. Their love is based on both physical and emotional attraction. Their love is shallow and based on defying their families. Their love is driven by their intellectual needs. Their love is instant and illogical.

Romeo and Juliet are comparing their lips to hands and say they must join them for prayer, as you would hands.

I hope this helps, I don't remember all of this :)

How does James Black's story illustrate Tough's point that "anything seems possible—as long as there's a teacher out there who c
alina1380 [7]

This question seems to be incomplete. However, there´s enough information to find the right answer.

Answer:

In his book How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character, Paul Tough uses James Black's story as an example of how although having good cognitive abilities is necessary,  hard work and proper education is much more important to turn intelligence into academic success.

Explanation:

James´amazing talent at playing chess, which usually indicates a high intelligence, didn´t match his academic results despite his teacher´s efforts. According to Tough, James´main obstacle was the deficiency of his education throughout his life, and not a lack of resolution or intellectual capacity. Furthermore, he praises Elizabeth Spiegel, James´teacher, for her efforts to get the kid to get better academic achievements, and claims that it´s teachers like her who actually understand educational needs and the importance of helping students develop their own intellectual abilities.

What does Anne’s change in point of view revel to us, the reader, about her personality?
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

I'm split in two. One side contains my exuberant cheerfulness, my flippancy, my joy in life and, above all, my ability to appreciate the lighter side of things.  This side of me is usually lying in wait to ambush the other one, which is much purer, deeper and finer. No one knows Anne's better side, and that's why most people can't stand me.

Explanation:

We can see Anne’s intense energy in this passage, as well as her frustration with the war that drags on and on as more as more people die and suffer and as her own life becomes less bearable, even as she struggles to remain always optimistic. Still, in spite of her grisly tone, sophistication, and bluster, there remains a naïve quality to Anne’s political perspectives. Much of this is due to the fact that she is so isolated. She has many books and the radio, but still a very limited window on the world.

Hope this was helpful
