Making the equation (-2(2)^2)/7

2^2 is 4 so the equation is then (-2(4))/7

Which then simplifies to -8/7

Therefore, you're doing ((-2)(2²))/7 which is -2 times 2 squared all over 7.

-2 × 2² = -8

-8/7 is your answer.
