In the problem with the white circle, x=100, in the problem with the blue circle, x might equal 165, but I'm not entirely certain.  But I am certain about the first one.

6. Find the equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through the point (-8, 3) and is parallel
prisoha [69]
<h3><u>The equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through the point (-8, 3) and is parallel  to the line -5x + 4y = 8 is:</u></h3>

y = \frac{5}{4}x + 13

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that,

We have to find the equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through the point (-8, 3) and is parallel  to the line -5x + 4y = 8

<em><u>The equation of line in slope intercept form is given as:</u></em>

y = mx + c

Where "m" is the slope of line

From given,

-5x + 4y = 8

Rearrange to slope intercept form

4y = 5x + 8

y = \frac{5x}{4} + \frac{8}{4}\\\\y = \frac{5x}{4} + 2

On comparing the above equation with slope intercept form,

m = \frac{5}{4}

We know that, slopes of parallel lines are equal

Therefore, slope of line parallel  to the line -5x + 4y = 8 is:

m = \frac{5}{4}

\text{Substitute } m = \frac{5}{4}\ and\ (x, y) = (-8, 3) \text{ in eqn 1}

3 = \frac{5}{4} \times -8 + c\\\\3 = -10 + c\\\\c = 13

Substitute c = 13 and m = 5/4 in eqn 1

y = \frac{5}{4}x + 13

Thus the equation of line in slope intercept form is found

The half-life of aspirin is about 3 hours. If someone takes 700mg, how long will it take until less than 50mg is left in that pe
uranmaximum [27]
In 3 hours half of 700 would be 700/2=350

in 3 more hours, so 6 total, the half life would be 350/2 = 175

in 3 more hours, 9 total, the half life would be 175/2 = 87.5

in 3 more hours, 12 total, the live life would be 87.5 / 2 = 43.75

 so it would be 12 hours to have less than 50 mg

Mr Davis has displayed data using box and whisker plots representing the scores on the first exam in his two calculus classes. U
devlian [24]

Answer: The first and third choices are deductions that Mr. Davis can make from the data displayed.

Step-by-step explanation:  The last choice is partly true. The highjest individual score was a student in third period, but most schools consider failing to be somewhere below 60 to 67%. There are several of scores below those numbers. The dots at the left end are "outliers."

The second choice may be true, but the data is about the scores on the test, not the number of students in the classes.
