Are the genes in the daughter cells produced by mitosis the same as or different from the genes in the original cell? Explain how this happens.

It is exactly the same cell, because in the beginning, the chromosomes duplicate and form sister chromatids. These are the exact copies. Then in Metaphase it lines up in the middle and in anaphase, it separates. This is basically how its done. First duplicate, then separated then forms new cell!
