Answer;
DNA replication allows the basic units of heredity found on segments of DNA, called genes, to be passed on from parent to offspring.

Explanation;
DNA replication involves the synthesis of other new DNA helices from the parent DNA helix in which the two strands of the parent DNA acts as templates to synthesize new complementary strands. This is a semi-conservative process in which the new DNA helix contains one strand from the original DNA and one new strand.
By so doing the process allows genes (segments of DNA) to be passed from the parents to the offsprings.

The gene is the basic unit of heredity that is present in the DNA segment. During DNA replication, these genes are passed from one generation to generation.

Further Explanation:

DNA replication is referred to as the copying of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) of a cell. The mechanism of DNA replication is similar to each and every organism. It is a semiconservative mechanism. DNA is a double helix structure and each of its strand act as a template which is essential for the synthesis of new complementary strand. During the process, the genes of the parents are transferred to offspring.

This process helps in the formation of two daughter cells with an equal number of chromosomes. Each new cell contains one new and one old strand of DNA. DNA replication includes four basic steps, first formation of the replication fork. DNA polymerase is the enzyme that helps in unzipping the double helix structure into two separate strands. The second step is primer binding that is required for the formation of complementary strand. The third step in DNA elongation and the final step is termination.

Ben Affleck has a cleft chin, but his ex-wife Jennifer Garner does not. Neither one of their two daughters (Violet and Seraphina
kherson [118]

Answer:

Ben - Y Xc

Jen - XCXC

Violet - XCXc

Seraphina - XCXc

Samuel- Y Xc

Explanation:

Given -

Ben has a cleft chin

Let the allele for cleft chin be "c"

and the allele for normal chin be "C"

When Ben with cleft chin mates with wife Jennifer Garner having normal chin, then the two girl child do not have cleft chin but the boy has cleft chin.

This means that the allele C could be X -linked and the mother is not the carrier but the father is

The genotype of father Ben would be Y Xc

Genotype of mother would be XCXC

Genotype of two daughters XCXc , XCXc which means they are carrier for the next generation

Genotype of Boy - Y Xc

Sort the items based on whether they have gravitational potential energy or chemical potential energy. liquid petroleum gasoline
poizon [28]

Explanation:

Gravitational potential energy is the energy of body due to its position in the gravitational field.

Whereas chemical potential energy is the energy within the chemical bonds of a substance.

For example, when we eat an apple then we get energy in our body so, it is the chemical potential energy stored in the apple.

Items sorted on the bases of gravitational potential energy and chemical potential energy are as follows.

Gravitational potential energy:

 • a ball thrown up in the air.
 • a stone rolling downhill.
 • water stored in an overhead tank.

Chemical potential energy:

 • liquid petroleum gasoline used in cars.
 • apples that people eat.
 • firecrackers that people set off.

What would happen to an ecosystem if an energy level disappeared? This is meaning in a pyramid.
butalik [34]
This has happened before in Yellow Stone National Park in CA. Removing a species form the Pyramid causes the ecosystem to collapse, as species become over hunted and others are starved. One type of organism could become overpopulated, therefor lack of natural variation.
