Answer:

The Hopi were more settled in villages and the Navajo were more nomadic in terms of lifestyle.

Explanation:

The Hopi are a Native American people who primarily live on the Hopi Reservation today in northeastern Arizona. In the past, the Hopi had encountered Spaniards as early as the 16th century, who referred to them at the Pueblo people because they lived in villages (pueblo means village in Spanish). They dedicated themselves to farming squash, corn, and other cultivates.  The Hopi people had settled in permanent villages, while the more nomadic Navajo people moved around and only settled in temporary camps. The Navajo also herded sheep in addition to agriculture. Their languages are also different. The Hopi language seems derived from the Aztec language, whereas linguistically the Navajo have more similarities to Canadian and Alaskan groups.

How is Nelson Mandela a hero
Ronch [10]

Answer:

Nelson Mandela was an activist against the apartheid system in South Africa and he later became the first black President of South Africa. He was committed to fighting poverty and achieving social justice throughout his life.

Explanation:

Nelson Mandela was an anti-apartheid revolutionary in South Africa who endured 27 years in prison for conspiring to overthrow the South African government when he was a member of the South African Community Party and the militant group called Umkhonto we Sizwe which he co-founded and which led sabotage campaigns against the government's apartheid policies.  He was sentenced in 1962 and released in 1990. He served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was South Africa's first black head of state. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid and fighting systemic racism. He is considered one of the world's foremost icons of democracy and social justice, having received more than 250 awards and recognitions including the Nobel Peace Prize. In South Africa people often refer to Mandela as Madiba, which is his Xhosa clan name. Madiba means "Father of the Nation."

Describe John Lewis's view on America, then determine if it is strange for someone like him who experienced what he experienced
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” That’s the revelatory title of a speech that black statesman and abolitionist Frederick Douglass delivered July 5, 1852, in Rochester, N.Y.

It is an oration that students should learn along with the history of how the Continental Congress, meeting July 2, 1776, in Philadelphia, declared independence from Britain and then on July 4 approved the document stating the reasons for the action.

Five things you think you know about July 4 that are (mostly) wrong

Douglass delivered the speech in Corinthian Hall to white members of the Rochester Ladies’ Anti-Slavery Society. He expressed respect for the country’s Founding Fathers, calling them “brave” and “truly great.” He compared the way they were treated by the British before independence to the treatment of slaves and urged them to view slaves as Americans.

(You may remember that on Feb. 1, 2017, President Trump made comments to honor Black History Month and spoke about Douglass as if he were still alive: “Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice.” Presumably, someone has told Trump by now that Douglass is long gone, although his work has always been appreciated.)
