The assignment for this lesson is to define rivalry, and explain how you used context clues from the passage to determine the wo

rd's meaning. Be sure to use specific examples from the text. Passage The rivalry between the Houston High Hornets and the Camden High Cavaliers had grown in the weeks before the state basketball championships. The teams had always been competitive — they had met twice over the season, and the games were intense, with each team earning a victory in the final seconds. Now both teams were competing for the championship in the final game, and the desire to beat the other team had grown to epic proportions.

Answer: I think that rivalry means two are against each other or fighting for an object. In the passage it states two different high schools and they say that it has grown in the weeks before the basketball game championships. It also says that they are competing and desire to beat the other team.

antiseptic1488 [7]
The correct answer is B. The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles. Real words are always capitalized in English grammar. Words like conjunctions are not capitalized which is why The in the first sentence is incorrectly capitalized, and To in the third, and Hunger Games should both be capitalized in the third sentence.
