Answer:

∠M=85 the shortest side is segment LM

Step-by-step explanation:

To figure out ∠m you need to add all of the angles together and make them equal 180.

(2x+5)+(3x+10)+(x+15)=180         Set the angles up to 180

6x+30=180                                 Combind like terms

6x=150                                        Subtract 30 from both sides

x=25                                           Divide by 6

Now you take x and plug it into ∠M

3x+10              The equation for angle M

3(25)+10         Add x into the equation

75+10              Multiply 3 by 25

85                    Add 10

85=∠M

This is angle M. Now you have to do this for the rest of the of the angles.

2x+5               The equation for angle L

2(25)+ 5          Add x into the equation

50+5               Multiply 2 by 25

55                    Add 5

55=∠L

x+15                      The equation for angle N

(25)+15                 Add x into the equation

25+15                   Add 15

40

40=∠N

A cylinder shaped drum is used to store used motor oil. The drum has a height of 3 ft and a radius of 1.5 ft. How many cubic fee
Makovka662 [10]
The answer is 21.2 ft²
To do this we need to calculate the volume of the cylinder shaped drum.The volume (V) of the cylinder with height h and radius r is:V = π r² h
We have:π = 3.14r = 1.5 fth = 3 ft
Therefore:V = π r² hV = 3.14 * (1.5 ft)² * 3 ftV = 21.2 ft²

Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of each line?
Ivenika [448]

Problem 1

It appears the line is going through the points (-1,-4) and (0,5)

Let's find the slope

(x_1,y_1) = (-1,-4) \text{ and } (x_2,y_2)  = (0,5)\\\\m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}\\\\m = \frac{5 - (-4)}{0 - (-1)}\\\\m = \frac{5 + 4}{0 + 1}\\\\m = \frac{9}{1}\\\\m = 9\\\\

The slope is 9

The y intercept is b = 5 as this is where the graph crosses the y axis.

We go from y = mx+b to y = 9x+5

<h3>Answer:   y = 9x+5</h3>

=======================================================

Problem 2

This line goes through the points (0,4) and (5,5)

We'll follow the same exact steps as before

First we need the slope

(x_1,y_1) = (0,4) \text{ and } (x_2,y_2)  = (5,5)\\\\m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}\\\\m = \frac{5 - 4}{5 - 0}\\\\m = \frac{1}{5}\\\\

The y intercept is the y coordinate of (0,4) so it's b = 4

<h3>Answer:  y = \frac{1}{5}x+4</h3>

What degree slope is a 16' ramp with a 35" rise
masha68 [24]

Answer:

10.5 Degree.

Step-by-step explanation:

The inclined length of the ramp is 16' i.e. 16 feet i.e. (16 × 12) = 192 inches.

And the rise of the ramp is 35" i.e. 35 inches.

We have to calculate the degree of slope from the above information.

If we consider the ramp as the hypotenuse of a right triangle, then the perpendicular height is 35 inches.

Then angle of slope is given by

\sin \theta = \frac{Perpendicular}{Hypotenuse} = \frac{35}{192} = 0.182

⇒ \theta =\sin^{-1} (0.182)=10.5 degree. (Answer)

A cylinder has a radius of 10 and height of 10 what is the surface area
spayn [35]

The surface area equation of a cylinder is:

2 * pi * r^2 + 2 * pi * r * h

Plug the values in:

2 * pi * 10^2 + 2 * pi * 10 * 10 is about 1256.64 units squared.

Determine whether the following function is one-to-one. f ( x ) = 6 x + 1
seraphim [82]

Answer:

one to one function

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=6x+1 can only be a one to one function when x1=x2

Now,

f(x1)=f(x2)

or, 6x1 + 1 = 6x2 + 1

or, 6x1 = 6x2

or, x1 = x2

So f(x)= 6x + 1 is a one to one function
