Does plato believe that the perfect society should be bound by tradition or convention?

Technically, plato believes that in order to be a perfect society, that society needed to be bound by convention (the uniqe way of society to do things).
That being said, Plato seem to be bound with several traditional point of view. For example, Plato believed the traditional role of women (nurturer in home, should not be involved in workplace)
