Get the two numbers into the same denominator to compare them.

The LCD of 10 and 12 is 60, but you could use 120 or 240 or whatever else.

9/10 would scale up to 54/60 (10 times 6 = 60, 9 times 6 = 54)
3/12 would scale up to 15/60 (12 times 5 = 60, 3 times 5 = 15)

Comparing 15/60 to 54/60, you could cut 3 pieces and would have 9/60 of an inch (3/20) remaining.

then you times 33 x 22 = 726
then you divide 726 by 100 = 7.26
so 22% of 33 is 7.26

If the area of a square plot of<br> land is 9 miles squared, what is<br> the perimeter of this land?
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

\huge{ \fbox{ \sf{12 \: miles}}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Area of a square plot = 9 miles

<u>First</u><u>,</u><u> </u><u>finding</u><u> </u><u>the</u><u> </u><u>length</u><u> </u><u>of</u><u> </u><u>the</u><u> </u><u>land</u>

\boxed{ \sf{Area \: of \: a \: square \:  =  \:  {length}^{2} }}

\mapsto{ \sf{9 =  {length}^{2} }}

\mapsto{ \sf{ {length}^{2}  = 9}}

\mapsto{ \sf{ \sqrt{ {(length)}^{2} }} =  \sqrt{9} }

\mapsto{ \sf{length = 3 \: miles}}

<u>Now</u><u> </u><u>,</u><u> </u><u>finding</u><u> </u><u>the</u><u> </u><u>perimeter</u><u> </u><u>of</u><u> </u><u>the</u><u> </u><u>land</u> :

\boxed{ \sf{perimeter \: of \: a \: square = 4 \: * length}}

\mapsto{ \sf{perimeter \:  =  \: 4 \:  * \: 3}}

\mapsto{ \sf{perimeter \:  = 12 \: miles}}

The perimeter of the land = 12 miles

Hope I helped!

Best regards! :D

Solve.<br> 45 = 4(a + 3) – 3
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

a = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

45 = 4(a + 3) – 3

Add 3 to both sides.

48 = 4(a + 3)

Divide both sides by 4.

12 = a + 3

Subtract 3 from both sides.

9 = a

a = 9

Answer: a = 9
