To divide one number by another is to determine how many times the second number is contained in the first.So let's count how many times 35 can fit in 495. Decompose the number 495 on the amount of my preferred numbers.350 this 10 times for 35105 is a 3 for 35that is, 13 times already fit. 350+105=455.
Try to add the 14th time.455+35=490. Is extra 5.
Then, 495:35=14 and 5/35 =14 1/7

In circle J with mZHLK = 18, find the mZHJK.
zysi [14]

Answer:

The measure of angle HJK is 36°

Step-by-step explanation:

<em><u>In a circle</u></em>, <em>the measure of the inscribed angle equal half the measure of the central angle subtended by the same arc</em>

In circle J

∵ J is the center of the circle

∵ H and K lie on the circle

∴ ∠HJK is a central angle subtended by arc HK

∵ L lies on the circle

∴ ∠HLK is an inscribed angle subtended by arc HK

→ By using the rule above

∵ ∠HJK and ∠HLK are the central angle and inscribed angle

   subtended by the same arc HK

∴ m∠HLK = \frac{1}{2} m∠HJK

∵ m∠HLK = 18°

∴ 18 = \frac{1}{2} m∠HJK

→ Multiply both sides by 2

∴ 36 = m∠HJK

∴ The measure of angle HJK is 36°

Use the graph to write a linear function that relates y to x .
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

2y = x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Looking at the graph, we can see from one point to the next (from right to left), the x-value rises by 2 and the y-value by 1;

From this we can work out the gradient between two points using the formula, i.e. the change/difference in y divided by the change/difference in x:

m = \frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{1}{2}

Joining the points gives a straight line, which means a constant gradient of ¹/₂

Use the line equation formula to get the function:

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

m = ¹/₂

x₁ = 0

y₁ = 1

y - 1 = ¹/₂.(x - 0)

y - 1 = ¹/₂.x

2y - 2 = x

2y = x + 2

PLEASE PLEASE HELP PLEASE
Maru [420]

Answer:

-2 and -7

Step-by-step explanation:

This problem is about using the Factoring X.

Two numbers will multiply to the number placed at the top. These same two numbers will add to the value placed on the bottom.

Let's look at the factors of 14.

1 • 14 = 14

2 • 7 = 14

Now let's look at their sums.

1 + 14 = 15

2 + 7 = 9

We can see that 2 and 7 multiply to 14 and add to 9.

However, we need them to add to -9.

Note that two negative numbers multiplied will become positive.

-2 • - 7 = 14

Now let's look at their sum.

-2 + (-7)

Simplify the negative.

-2 - 7 = -9

We can see that -2 and -7 multiply to 14 and add to -9.

Hope this helps!
