Biotic potential, the maximum reproductive capacity of an organism under optimum environmental conditions. It is often expressed as a proportional or percentage increase per year, as in the statement “The human population increased by 3 percent last year.” It can also be expressed as the time it takes for a population to double in size (doubling time). In disease-related studies it is comparable to the “force of infection,” the number of susceptible individuals each infected individual further infects.

The letter A indicates _____. A cross-section of an adult tree trunk. The outer layer interacts with the environment. The second
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

Explanation:

In a cross-section of an adult tree trunk, the outer layer that interacts with the environment is called periderm (Layer D). The second layer that follows the periderm is the phloem (Layer C). The next layer is the cambium, which produces phloem cells and xylem cells (Layer B). The secondary xylem follows the vascular cambium (Layer A) and finally, the medulla is located in the middle of the trunk.

The secondary xylem proceeds from the vascular cambium activity. Its cells are orientated in different ways composing the vertical/axial system and the horizontal/transversal system. The secondary xylem is essential to the tree growth in high because of its resistance and the capacity to transport water long distances. Secondary xylem functions are to transport water and minerals through its vessels and tracheids, to provide support and resistance to the plant, and to store reserve substances.

If a person eats hurriedly and barely chews his food before swallowing it, what effect will it likely have on his stomach?
weqwewe [10]
Well to be fair no matter what happens, a will always happen no matter how wholly fold is chewed. However because chime is the byproduct of chewing and saliva. Your body must be able to break down the food into a smaller and easy to absorb form so if you can't do it with the mouth, the stomach is just going to have to do the job.

So "D" is the correct answer
