The doctor will ask about Your menstrual cycle and gynecological history
Past pregnancies
Your personal and family medical history
Medication use, including prescription and over-the-counter medications or supplements
Your lifestyle, including your use of tobacco, alcohol and caffeine.
To estimate your due date, your health care provider will use the date your last period started, add seven days and count back three months. The due date will be about 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Your health care provider will use a fetal ultrasound to help confirm the date.

Your health care provider will check your weight and height and use this information to calculate your BMI.

Your health care provider will measure your blood pressure, heart rate and breathing rate and do a complete physical exam. He or she will check for any undiagnosed medical conditions.

The client is to begin treatment with metformin. Which client statement requires immediate intervention by the nurse?
mojhsa [17]

Answer: 1. “I will be sure to carry a chocolate candy bar with me at all times.”

Explanation:

The metformin is a drug which is used to treat or lower the high blood sugar levels that can be seen in the case of diabetes mellitus of type 2. In this condition insulin produced by the pancreas does not allow the sugar available to the cells where it is actually required for metabolism.

The use of chocolate candy bar should be avoided as it will nullify the effect of lowering the blood sugar levels by the metformin.
