Why are length x width x height and base x height both correct ways to find volume of a rectangular prism?

<em>Answer</em>

<em>Because the base is equal to the area, (L*W). So essentially, they are the same equation! </em>

<em>Explanation:</em>

We normally find the area when dealing with two-dimensional shapes, correct? So, when the shape becomes 3-dimensional, it now includes a base <em>and </em>a height! You multiply these together to get the volume (the amount of space it takes up).

If we were to add a height to a regular rectangle, what was once the entire shape, now becomes the base of a rectangular prism! The length and the width of that prism is equal to the base, which makes both equations equal to each other!

How do I find slope?
Korolek [52]
To find the slope in the graph you need to find two perfect points on the line then count how many times you went up which is the y over how many times you go right which is the x its called the rise/run. To find the slope in the equation use the formula y2-y1/x2-x1.

Determine whether the ordered pair is a solution of the linear equation y = 11r - 4 (0 -4)
KiRa [710]

Hi there!

»»————- ★ ————-««

I believe your answer is:

Yes, it is a solution.

»»————- ★ ————-««

Here’s why:

⸻⸻⸻⸻

I am assuming that 'r' is supposed to be 'x'.

⸻⸻⸻⸻

y=11r-4\\------------\\\rightarrow -4 = 11(0) - 4\\\\\rightarrow -4 = 0 -4\\\\\rightarrow \boxed{-4=-4}

⸻⸻⸻⸻

The ordered pair is a solution. You can also tell that it is a solution because the equation given is in slope-intercept form, and '-4' is in b's spot.

⸻⸻⸻⸻

y = mx+b

Hope this helps you. I apologize if it’s incorrect.
