The Federalists were more organized which made possible for them to shape the US Constitution in 1787. Anti-Federalists did not gain much support because they were not that organized all over 13 states.

Also, the Federalists had strong leaders, such as Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, James Madison, and George Washington.

The Anti Federalists defended the Articles of Confederation, a document that had to be substituted because it did not have a working central government.  Anti Federalists also had more support on rural areas and Federalists had more support on urban areas.
