I would say the rabbit cause it says the rabbit runs 35 miles per hour every hour so and the fox runs 31 miles per half an hour so the rabbit goes faster than the fox if they can both run a short distance at those speeds

C it is c because the rabbit has a higher speed and the speed is 14 mph

Algebraically determine if the relation y = x3 − 4x is symmetric with respect to the x-axis, y-axis, the origin or has no symmet
Gala2k [10]
\bf y=x^3-4x
\\\\\\
\textit{check for y-axis symmetry}\\\\
\stackrel{x=-x}{y=(-x)^3-4(-x)}\implies y=(-x)(-x)(-x)+4x\implies \boxed{y=-x^3+4x}
\\\\\\
\textit{checking for x-axis symmetry}\\\\
\stackrel{y=-y}{(-y)=x^3-4x}\implies -y=x^3-4x\implies \boxed{y=-x^3+4x}
\\\\\\
\textit{checking for origin symmetry}\\\\
\stackrel{x=-x\qquad y=-y}{(-y)=(-x)^3-4(-x)}\implies -y=(-x)(-x)(-x)+4x
\\\\\\
-y=-x^3+4x\implies y=\cfrac{-x^3+4x}{-1}\implies \boxed{y=x^3-4x}\quad \checkmark

notice, if you replace x = -x and y = -y accordingly for each test for symmetry, if the resulting function, is equal to the original function, then it has that type of symmetry.

As the Earth revolves around the sun, it travels at a speed of approximately 18
zzz [600]
So if the earth goes 18 miles per second you would multiply 18 and 60 since 60 seconds are in a minute. And that is 1,080 miles in a minute then times that by 5 and your answer is 5,400 miles in 5 minutes.

Convert the equation r = 12 sin theta to Cartesian coordinates. Describe the resulting curve.
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that there is a polar equation as

r=12 sin \theta

This has to be converted into cartesian.

We know the conversion is

r^2 =x^2+y^2 \\tan \theta = \frac{y}{x}

Using this we can say that

sin^2 \theta = 1-cos^2 \theta \\= 1-\frac{1}{sec^2 \theta} \\=1-\frac{1}{1+tan^2 \theta} \\=1-\frac{1}{1+\frac{y^2}{x^2} } \\=1-\frac{x^2}{x^2+y^2} \\=\frac{y^2}{y^2+y^2}

\sqrt{x^2+y^2} =12(\frac{y}{\sqrt{x^2+y^2} } \\x^2+y^2 =12y\\x^2+y^2-12y+36 = 36\\x^2+(y-6)^2 = 6^2}

Circle with centre (0,6) and radius 6.
