Gravity causes the raindrop to accelerate to the ground at a rate of 10m/s². However, air friction acts against this gravitational acceleration by reducing the rate of acceleration of the raindrops. The higher the friction surface of the raindrops the lower the terminal velocity.
A chromosome deletion occurs when a chromosomal fragment is lost. Thus the chromosome is missing some genes. One example of this in humans is know as cry of the cat. It occurs from a deletion on a chromosome number 5. A child that is born has a mental disability a small head with unusual facial features and cries like the sound of a distressed cat. The children rarely live into adulthood.

Earthquakes generally increase the rate of weathering and erosion because the energy transmitted through rocks, especially, shear waves (secondary waves) will break rocks. Volcanos emit gases such as carbon dioxide and sulfur that will cause acidic precipitation. This acidic precipitation will dissolve some elements in the rocks hence weakening them and increasing the rate of erosion.
