Answer:

cosine∠R = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find the figure of triangle.

We have to find the cosine∠R.

First we find the base of triangle.

We have formula: Hypotenuse² = Base² + perpendicular²

Hypotenuse = 20

Base= ?

perpendicular = 10√3

Applying formula we get,

Base = √20² - (10√3)²

base = 10

As we know that :

cosФ = base/hypotenuse

cosine∠R = 10/20

cosine∠R = 1/2 is the result.

<h2>Hello!</h2>

The answer is:

cos(R)=\frac{1}{2}

<h2>Why?</h2>

Since it's a right triangle and we need to know the adjacent side of the triangle, in order to find cos(R), we can use the Pythagorean Theorem.

Pythagorean Theorem formula:

c^{2}=a^{2} +b^{2}

Where:

c=hypotenuse=20\\a=FirstTriangleSide=AdjacentSide\\b=SecondTriangleSide=OppositeSide=10\sqrt{3}

So, the adjacent side will be:

AdjacentSide=\sqrt{c^{2}-b^{2}}=\sqrt{20^{2}-(10\sqrt{3})^{2}}=\sqrt{400-100*3} \\AdjacentSide=\sqrt{100}=10

Now, that we know the adjacent side, we can calculate cos(R), so:

cos(R)=\frac{AdjacentSide}{Hypotenuse}=\frac{10}{20}=\frac{1}{2}

To find the answer you need to fin the discount. So basically I did 16x15 and got 240. Than I divided that by 100. I got 2.40.Than I subtract 2.40 from 16 and got $13.60. Therefore it would be B

The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 168 square feet. Its length is 10 feet longer than twice its width. Find the length
Katen [24]
So area is 168 sq ft

That means that length * width = 168 sq ft
Since length  = 10 + 2 w

we get (10+2w)(w)  = 168

Multiply it out and you get 2w^2 + 10w - 168 = 0

This is a quadratic equation. You can use the formula here, but i'll just tell you the answer

w = -12,  or 7
since it can't equal -12 (ever heard of a barn with a length of -12?), you figure out the answer is 7.

If the width is 7, then the length is 10+2(7) = 24.

Have a nice day!
