enyata [817]
Given that <span>For a certain model of car the distance d required to stop the vehicle if it is traveling at v mi/h is given by the formula d=v+\frac{v^2}{20}, where [tex]d is measured in feet.

If Kerry wants her stopping distance not to exceed 75 ft, then the range of speeds (in mi/h) can she travel is obtained as follows:

v+ \frac{v^2}{20} \leq75 \\  \\ 20v+v^2\leq1,500 \\  \\ v^2+20v+100\leq1,500+100 \\  \\ (v+10)^2\leq1,600 \\  \\ |v+10|\leq\sqrt{1,600} \\  \\ -40\leq v+10\leq40 \\  \\ -40-10\leqv\leq v\leq40-10 \\  \\ -50\leq v\leq30

Therefore, the range of speed she can travel is v\leq30\ mi/hr

Two trucks leave a warehouse at the same time. one travels due west at an average speed of 49 miles per hour, and the other trav
Gre4nikov [31]

Well there can be two different solutions for this but i will choose the easier one. Obviously one requires a system of equations which obviously will involve a lot of thinking and some good algebra solving in order for them to solve.

So we can just keep adding the distance as we know they are in different directions. 49 + 65 = 114. So 114 * 4.5 = 513 miles. SO after around 4.5 hours they will be 513 miles apart.

You charge $5 plus $0.75 per dog you walk at a dog shelter. You earn $14 total working on a Saturday. How many dogs did you walk
san4es73 [151]

Answer: You walked 12 dogs

Step-by-step explanation:

If you charge 0.75 per dog then we can represent that by the expression 0.75x where x is the number of dogs. If you charge $5 for the initial amount, then the whole expression will be 0.75x +5  and that has to equal the amount that you earned working on Saturday.So the equation will be

0.75x + 5 = 14   Now solve for x by first subtracting 5 from both sides

          -5     -5

0.75x = 9      Divide both sides by 0.75

 x = 12
