Answer

so there are 7 singing acts and 5 comedy acts.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x= number of singing acts.

Let y= number of comedy acts.

We will take x+y=12 as our first equation, as there are 12 shows in total. We will take 5x+3y=50 as our second equation as there are 50 total minutes, and singing acts are 5 mins and comedy acts are 3 mins.

We solve x+y=12

Y=-x+12

We know y=-x+12, so we will substitute that for the y in the second equation.

1. Substitute 5x+3(-x+12)=50

2. Distribute 5x-3x+36=50

3. Solve 2x+36=50

2x=14

X=7

Now that we have found x, we will find y by substitute the x in 5x+3y=50 with the value, 7, that we found for x.

5(7)+3y=50

35+3y=50

3y=15

Y=5

Given two vectors A=2i+3j+4k,B=i-2j+3k find the magnitude and direction of sum<br>(physics question)
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

Magnitude =\sqrt{59} \\\\Direction \: of \: \overrightarrow{A + B} = \frac{3}{\sqrt {59}} , \:\frac{1}{\sqrt {59}} , \:\frac{7}{\sqrt {59}}

Step-by-step explanation:

A=2i+3j+4k

B=i-2j+3k

Sum of the vectors:

A + B = 2i+3j+4k + i-2j+3k = 3i + j + 7k

Magnitude =\sqrt{3^2 + 1^2+ 7^2} \\\\Magnitude =\sqrt{9+1+49} \\\\Magnitude =\sqrt{59}

Direction of the sum of the vectors:

\widehat{A + B} =\frac{\overrightarrow{A + B}}{Magnitude\: of \:\overrightarrow{A + B}} \\\\\widehat{A + B} =\frac{3i + j + 7k}{\sqrt {59}} \\\\\widehat{A + B} =\frac{3}{\sqrt {59}} i +\frac{1}{\sqrt {59}} j+\frac{7}{\sqrt {59}} k\\\\Direction \: of \: \overrightarrow{A + B} = \frac{3}{\sqrt {59}} , \:\frac{1}{\sqrt {59}} , \:\frac{7}{\sqrt {59}} \\\\

Can someone please explain to me how to do numbers 2 and 3??
LenaWriter [7]
The answer to question 3 is 1 person orders chicken and the other 5 had steak dinner.

the way you work this out is you half 6 which is three and then do 3x14 and 3x17
3x14=42
3x17=51
42+51=93
this is too less so you have to do less of the cheaper meal (14) and more of the dearer one (17) so I went to 1x14 and 5x17
1x14=14
5x17=85
14+85=99
add these together and it makes 99

the answer to question 14 is 5 adults and 3 students

to do this you do exactly the same as how you do question 3
