$612.04 will Jack have to pay if he drives 1,248 miles in one particular month .

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have , Jack’s new truck costs $325 per month for car payments. In addition, he estimates that gas and maintenance expenses cost $0.23 per mile. We need to find :

a. Express the monthly cost as a function of the miles driven.

Let number of miles driven be x , & monthly cost be y So , equation is :

⇒ y=0.23x+325 , Where 325 is Jack’s new truck costs $325 per month for car payments .

b. How much will Jack have to pay if he drives 1,248 miles in one particular month?

According to question we have ,

x=1,248

Putting value of x in y=0.23x+325 we get:

⇒ y=0.23x+325

⇒ y=0.23(1248)+325

⇒ y=287.04+325

⇒ y=612.04\

Therefore , $612.04 will Jack have to pay if he drives 1,248 miles in one particular month .

jeka94

Answer:

74 pages/hour

Step-by-step explanation:

The average rate of change is the difference in the numbers of pages divided by the difference in the numbers of hours.

At the end of 3 hours, 90 pages were read.

At he end of 5 hours, 238 pages were read.

Difference in hours: 5 hours - 3 hours = 2 hours.

Difference in pages: 238 pages - 90 pages = 148 pages

The average rate of change is the difference in pages divided by the difference in hours.

average rate of change = (148 pages)/(2 hours) = 74 pages/hour
