Let
x------> the length <span>of the placemat
</span>w------> <span>the width of the placemat

we know that
area of the rectangular </span><span>placemat=x*w
Area=126 in</span>²
so
126=x*w-----> x=126/w ----> equation 1
x=4*[9-w/2]----> x=4*[(18-w)/2]----> x=36-2w----> equation 2
equate equation 1 and equation 2
126/w=36-2w----> multiply by w both sides----> 126=36w-2w²
2w²-36w+126=0

using a graph tool
see the attached figure

the solutions are
w=4.757 in
w=13.243 in

for w=4.76 in
x=126/w----> x=126/4.76----> x=26.47 in

for w=13.24 in
x=126/13.24-----> x=9.52 in

the answer is
<span>the equation that models the area of the placemat is
</span>2w²-36w+126=0

Maddy lleva un bote con bebida para deportistas; el bote de 5 55 litros pesa 7 , 5 kg 7,5 kg7, comma, 5, start text, space, k, g
Kaylis [27]

Answer: 3\ kilograms

Step-by-step explanation:

It is important to remember that, by definition, proportional relationships have the following form:

y=kx

Where "k" is the constant of proportionality.

 We know that Maddy assume that the relation between the volume and the weight is proportional.

Then, let be "V" the volume in liters and "w" the weight in kilograms.

We can write the following equation:

V=kw

 So, if the boat of 555 liters weights 7.5 kilograms, we can find "k":

555 =k(7)\\\\k=\frac{555}{7}\\\\k=74

In order to solve the exercise, substitute the value of "k" and V=222 into the equation and solve for "w". Then:

222=(74)w\\\\\frac{222}{74}=w\\\\w=3

Answer:

(-2, -9)

explanation:

original coordinates of B: (7, 9)

use the formula: (x, y) ---> (x, -y)

  • if reflects over x-axis new coordinates: (7, -9)

If horizontally shifted there will be change in x axis,

  • new coordinates (7-9,-9) → (-2, -9)
