3x+4y=-3......(1)
5x+3y=6........(2)

So we multiply equation 1 by 5 and 2 by 3 and subtracting, we got

15x+20y=-15
15x+9y=18
(-) (-) (-)

11y=-33
y=-3

Putting y=-3 in equation 1, we have 3x-12=-3
3x=9
x=3

So x=3(Ans)
y=-3(Ans)

Answer:

Move all terms that don't contain  x  to the right side and solve.

x=−1  −  4y/3

Move all terms that don't contain  x  to the right side and solve.

x=6/5  −  3y/5

X/x-2 + x-1/x+1= -1<br> Can someone walk me through the steps of this problem? Much appreciated. :)
stealth61 [152]

Answer:

x = 0 or x = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation:

\dfrac{x}{x-2}+\dfrac{x-1}{x+1}=-1

Multiply the two denominators to get the same denominator:

Multiply the numerator of the first fraction by the denominator of the second fraction to get the new numerator of the first fraction.

Multiply the numerator of the second fraction by the denominator of the first fraction to get the new numerator of the second fraction.

\implies \dfrac{x(x+1)}{(x-2)(x+1)}+\dfrac{(x-2)(x-1)}{(x-2)(x+1)}=-1

Add the numerators and keep the denominator so that there is now one fraction:

\implies \dfrac{x(x+1)+(x-2)(x-1)}{(x-2)(x+1)}=-1

Simplify the numerator by expanding the brackets:

\implies \dfrac{x^2+x+x^2-3x+2}{(x-2)(x+1)}=-1

\implies \dfrac{2x^2-2x+2}{(x-2)(x+1)}=-1

Simplify the denominator by expanding the brackets:

\implies \dfrac{2x^2-2x+2}{x^2-x-2}=-1

Multiply both sides by the denominator of the left side:

\implies 2x^2-2x+2=-1(x^2-x-2)

Simplify and move everything to the left side:

\implies 2x^2-2x+2=-x^2+x+2

\implies 3x^2-3x=0

Factor:

\implies 3x(x-1)=0

Therefore:

\implies 3x=0 \implies x=0

\implies x-1=0 \implies x=1

Therefore, x = 0 or x = 1

four times the sum of a number and 7 is 20 less than six times the number find the number round your answer to the nearest integ
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

4 (x+7) = 6x+20

The +20 is necessary because the left is twenty less, so in order to make them equal we must add twenty to the right.

Continue and solve by isolating integrates on one side and numbers on the other.

X=4

Find a power series representation for the function and determine the interval of convergence ln(5 - x
Andrew [12]
To find the power series representation of In(5 - x), we recall that the power series representation of a function of the form:
\frac{a}{1-r} =\sum\limits^\infty_{n=0}ar^n
provided |r| < 1
Also recall that
\int{\frac{a}{1-r}\,dx} =\int{\sum\limits^\infty_{n=0}ar^n\,dx}
Notice that
\ln{(5-x)}=-\int {\frac{1}{5-x}\,dx}
To get the power series of
\frac{1}{5-x}= (\frac{1}{5})  \frac{1}{1- \frac{x}{5} }  \\ =\sum\limits^\infty_{n=0}( \frac{1}{5}) (\frac{x}{5})^n=(\frac{1}{5}) (\frac{x}{5})+(\frac{1}{5}) (\frac{x^2}{25})+(\frac{1}{5}) (\frac{x^3}{125})+ . . . \\ =\frac{x}{25}+\frac{x^2}{125}+ \frac{x^3}{625}+ . . .
Therefore, the power series representation of
\ln{(5-x)}=-\int {\frac{1}{5-x}\,dx} \\ =-\int{(\frac{x}{25}+\frac{x^2}{125}+ \frac{x^3}{625}+ . . . ),dx} \\ =C-\frac{x^2}{50}-\frac{x^3}{375}- \frac{x^4}{2500}- . . .
When x = 0: C = ln 5
Therefore,
\ln{(5-x)}=\ln{5}-\frac{x^2}{50}-\frac{x^3}{375}- \frac{x^4}{2500}- . . .

The radius of convergence is given by |r| < 1.
Here,
r= \frac{x}{5}
Therefore, radius of convergence is
| \frac{x}{5}| \ \textless \ 1 \\ |x|\ \textless \ 5

Noelle works part time at a marketing firm. She gets paid by the task: the more difficult the job, the more money she earns. Noe
inessss [21]

Answer:

the correct option is p≥75

Step-by-step explanation:

the correct answer ir p≥75 because the sum of all other task she have done

$150+$65+$120+$100+$90=$525 so in order to reach $600(the amount she needs to pay her bills) u need to rest:

$600-the sum of the other 5 works ---> $600-$525=75 ----> this means that $75 is enough to pay her bills, but if she earns more than that it would be enough too.

ANWER= p≥75(higher or equal to 75)
