Asthenosphere

Explanation:

The asthenosphere is the upper part of the Earth's mantle. Located between 80 and 200 km of depth, it is a very viscous region. Given the condition of temperature and pressure in the asthenosphere, rocks in this region are very ductile, brittle and they can be bend very easily. Seismic waves pass slower through the asthenosphere than other regions of the mantles, due to the presence of these soft rocks.

Answer: The part of the mantle called the Asthenosphere is made of soft rock that bends like plastic

Explanation:

Layer lies just below the layer of lithosphere (rigid layer made by the crust and uppermost layer of the mantle). This include less rigid rocks than above which bends like plastic.

This soft layer is known as Asthenosphere.

which of the following statements is correct when describing the forces at work on a bridge a. wires are in tension B. large pos
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

All the statements are true

Explanation:

A) Wires are in tension.

It is true because the loads exerted on the bridge are taken by each of the cables of the bridge. these cables transmit the force to the pillars or columns of the bridge. (check the image 01)

B) Large posts are in compression.

It is true each of the loads of the cables is tension, are transmitted to the columns of the bridge, in this way the balance will be maintained (check the image 01)

C) The bridge deck is both in tension and compression.

Yes it is true, the superior part of the deck will be in compression and the inferior part will be in tension, this can be seen in the image 02

What is the magnitude of the kinetic frictional force
Sophie [7]

Answer:

Magnitude of kinetic force is the product of the normal force and the coefficient of kinetic friction.

Explanation:

The kinetic frictional force is the force which is experienced in the moving surfaces of bodies.The magnitude of the force is affected by the coefficient of kinetic friction between the material of two bodies in contact. Mathematically, it is expressed as;

Fk=μk*η

where;

 • Fk=force of kinetic friction
 • μk=coefficient of kinetic friction
 • η=normal force
