10 quarts of 20 % salt solution mixed with 5 quarts of 80 % salt solution to make 15 quarts of 40 % salt solution

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

The final mixture is 15 quarts

Let amount of 20% solution to be mixed, be x

Then, the amount of 80 % solution to be mixed is 15 - x

Thus, we can say,

"x" quarts of 20 % salt solution mixed with (15 - x) quarts of 80 % salt solution to make 15 quarts of 40 % salt solution

thus, we frame a equation as,

x \times 20 \% + (15-x) \times 80 \% = 15 \times 40 \%

x \times \frac{20}{100} + (15-x) \times \frac{80}{100} = 15 \times \frac{40}{100}\\\\0.2x + 0.8(15-x) = 0.4 \times 15\\\\0.2x + 12 - 0.8x = 6\\\\0.6x = 12 - 6\\\\0.6x = 6\\\\x = 10

Thus 10 quarts of 20 % solution is mixed

Then, 15 - x = 15 - 10 = 5

5 quarts of 80 % salt solution is mixed

Solve this equation: 12−3(3x−5)=12(2x+1)
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

x = -3/11

Step-by-step explanation:

First, distribute the -3 and 12 within the parenthesis

12 - 9x + 15 = 24x + 12

Now, combine like terms

3 - 9x = 24x + 12

Subtract 24x from both sides of the equation

3 - 33x = 12

Subtract 3 from both sides of the equation

- 33x = 9

Divide both sides by -33

x = -9/33

-9/33 can be simplified to -3/11, so the answer is

x = -3/11

<span>Supplementary angles are two angles that add to 180 degrees.

The equation is </span><span>4x + 5x = 180.

(combine like terms and simplify) 9x=180

180/9=20

so x = 20

So that would mean 4x= 80.

The smaller angle is equal to 80. Since supplementary angles add up to  180, you have a clue as to what the larger angle measures to.

g100num [7]

Answer:

They won 10 matches.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio is 2 wins to 3 losses.

You can use a proportion.

2 wins is to 3 losses as x wins is to 15 losses.

2/3 = x/15

3x = 2 * 15

3x = 30

x = 10

Answer: 10 wins
