Use Pythagorean theory

C^2 = a^+ b^2

In this case you have c and a

B^2= c^2-a^2

B^2 = 12^2-5^2

B^2= 144-25

B^2 = 119

Square root both sides

X= 10.90871

This is a right triangle and to find the length of the missing side you must do pythagorean theorem:

a^{2} +b^{2} = c^{2}

a & b are the legs of a right triangle

c is the hypotenuse. This is the side opposite the right angle

In this case each value is:

a = 5

b = x---------------> This is what you are looking for

c = 12

^^^Plug these number into the pythagorean theorem

5^{2} +x^{2} = 12^{2}

25 + x^{2} = 144

Isolate x by subtracting 25 to both sides

(25-25) + x^{2} = 144 - 25

x^{2} = 119

The opposite of squaring a number is taking the square root of a number, so to isolate x take the square root of both sides.

\sqrt{x^{2} } } =\sqrt{119}

x = 10.9087121146

Then if the question requests it, you can round  10.9087121146

Hope this helped!

: Let y = f(x) =  x^1/3
Then dy = 1/3*x^(−2/3) dx
 Since f(64) = 4.
We take x = 64 and dx = ∆x = 1
This gives dy = 1/3*(64)^(−2/3)* (1) =  1/48
∴65^(1/3) = f(64 + 1) ≈ f(64) + dy = 4 + 1/48 ≈ 4.021 <span>

Write 2,930,365 in expanded notation
Snowcat [4.5K]

Step-by-step explanation: The place value chart can help us write a number in expanded notation. When we put 2,930,365 into the place value chart, we can recognize that our number is equal to 2 millions + 9 hundred thousands + 3 ten thousands + 0 thousands + 3 hundreds + 6 tens + 5 units.

The place value chart is attached in the image provided.
