Simile! Remember that similes always use "like" or "as".
Example: "As crazy as a fox" or "Sweet like candy"

Answer: B) Simile.

Explanation: A simile is a direct comparison between elements that aren't obviously related, it helps the reader to form a mental image and to understand a point. In the given lines we can see two examples of simile, the first one is "the river like the silver track left by a snail" which compares the river with the track left by a snail, and the second one is "and roads as narrow as ribbons" which compares the road with ribbons.

Hello!

The effects of using the figurative language that is described in the story are:

By speculating about his genetic makeup, the author conveys a contemplative tone.

By referencing his persistence, the author conveys a proud tone

By describing the differences between a terrier and a spaniel, the author implies an ironic tone.

Argument:

The author tends to use plenty of metaphors and similes with a tendency of contradiction. For example, when the author compares a spaniel and a terrier gives the reader a metaphor of how different these races are between each other but at the same time, he shows how valuable is Nibble, the mongrel dog.

What are the two most popular points of view for telling stories? What are the two most common ?
zzz [600]
The most common are 1st and 3rd person. 1st person is when you tell a story from your point of view, using the pronouns "I or we." And 3rd person is from an outside point of view, using the pronouns "he, she, and they." 2nd person isn't very common because it uses the pronoun "you," and makes the audience a character in the story. Hope this helps!

Which of the following best summarizes why the family was having mouse trouble
lapo4ka [179]

The family is having mouse problems probably because their house provides  food for them. so I'd suggest putting the food in plastic tupperware and containers.
