Answer:

1. Book value of equity

6 million x 8 = 48million

Book value of debt = 65 + 40 = 105 million

Total value = 105 + 48 = 153 million

Weight of equity = 48/153 = 0.3137

Weight of debt = 105/153 = 0.6863

2. Market value

= 6 million x 85 = 510million

= Market value of debt = (65m * 0.95) + (40m * 1.08)

= 61.75m + 43.2m

= 104.95million

Total value = 104.95 + 510 = 614.95million

Weight of equity on market value = 510/614.95 = 0.8293

Weight of debt on market value = 104.95/614.95 = 0.1707

3. Market value of weights are more relevant

If the price elasticity of demand for apples is 1.20 (absolute value), then the demand is _____ and total revenue will ______ if
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

The correct answer is: price elastic; increase.

Explanation:

The price elasticity of demand for apples is 1.2.

This implies that the demand relatively prices elastic.

Elastic demand means that a proportionate change in the price of apples will cause more than proportionate change in the quantity demanded.

A decrease in the price of apples will cause its quantity demanded to increase by more than proportionate. This will cause total revenue to increase.

Marina86 [1]

Answer:

Assuming that Samuel's retiring age is exactly 65 years old, and he starts collecting benefits 24 months before his full retirement age (exactly on his birthday number 63), then he will receive $867 per month (or 86.7% of his full benefits).

This calculation varies depending on the number of months, e.g.

months before full retirement age                   % of full retirement benefit

The price of digital cameras fell because of improvements in production technology. As a result, the demand for non-digital came
zavuch27 [327]

Answer:

The answer is: B) The statement is false. A decrease in the price of digital cameras would decrease the demand for non-digital cameras, but a decrease in the price of non-digital cameras would not cause the demand for non-digital cameras to decrease.

Explanation:

Suppose we are not currently living in 2019, instead we are back 12 years to 2007 (before the iPhone). Back then , digital cameras were still used by common "unprofessional" users. Digital cameras were an improvement compared to non-digital cameras, so the price of non-digital cameras were much lower than their digital counterparts.

If the price of digital cameras decreased, then the price of non-digital cameras would decrease also. For example, if luxury car companies like Mercedes Benz started selling sedan cars for $20,000, Ford and Chevrolet would be forced to lower the price of their cars since they wouldn't be able to compete with MB at the same price.

But a decrease in the price of non-digital cameras would never decrease their demand. Something else would have caused that decrease. Probably digital cameras became so cheap that everyone could afford one and since they were so much better than non-digital cameras, people simply stopped buying non-digital cameras.
