Millie bought $2 \frac{3}{4} = \frac{4*2+3}{4}= \frac{11}{4}$ pounds of cherries for $11 


           11/4 pounds          cost     11 dollars

then       1 pound             cost      x dollars

$x= \frac{1*11}{ \frac{11}{4} }=11* \frac{4}{11}=4$  dollars.


Millie payed $2 more per pound.
